About IIT JAM Exam
IIT JAM is Joint Admission Test for Masters is an all India Admission Test conducted jointly by the Indian Institute of Technology (IITs) and Indian Institute of Science (IISC), Bangalore on behalf of the Ministry of Human Resources Development.
This test enables a candidate to get admission into M.Sc. Program, Joint Ph.D. Dual Degree, and other post B.Sc. Programs at various IITs, IISC & NIT’s.

Eligibility
- All candidates should have a Bachelor’s degree and Physics must be the main subject in B.Sc. for three years/six semesters.
- In the qualifying degree, the CGPA/CPI should be at least 55% or 5.5 out of 10 for General/OBC (NCL) category candidates, and 50% or 5.0 out of 10 for SC/ST and PwD category candidates.
- Mathematics is a necessary subject at the 10+2 level.
- Anyone looking to pursue a career in research and frontier areas of science can take up this joint entrance exam.
